He's Not Mad, He's In Love

Many of us can agree that what we think about someone determines how we approach them. Think about it. If you think a person is quick tempered, you will spend more time contemplating the right moment to approach them to have a discussion. If you perceive someone to be compassionate, you tend to be at ease when sharing your heart with them.

My question to you is how do you see God? Is He an angry judge waiting to sentence you to eternal damnation whenever you sin? Is He watching and waiting for you to fall so that He can pronounce a cruel punishment over you? Is He loving towards you only if you keep all of His commandments? Unfortunately, some Christians view Him in this manner.

How we see the Father matters because if effects how we communicate with Him, how we experience Him in our daily lives and how we present Him to others. Over the last 2 weeks I have been asking God to show Himself to me in a new and fresh way. I believe that if we see God for the loving Father that He is we won’t spend so much time in condemnation of ourselves whenever we miss the mark. I believe that whenever we truly are enlightened to just how much He loves us we will in turn fall deeper in love with Him. As we fall in love with Him, we will do less of the things that break His heart.

My prayer for you this month is that you will see Him all over again as if it were the first time. The Bible is God’s beautiful love letter to you. Inside of this love letter you will find just how madly in love He is with you.
